These are my notes from B1G Fridays Work-In-Progress: Glow in the Dark.
Face Failure with Focus It is all about dealing failure in the workplace.
Common responses to failure
– Discouragement
– Frustration
– Anger
– Quitting
– Blaming others
– Blaming God
If we respond to failure with one of these above will lead to greater discouragement and greater frustration.
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” Romans? ?8:28-29? ?NLT??
It doesn’t mean that everything will go okay but you and I are not in control of all things. Only God can cause all things. You and I should not be obsessed in controlling everything around us. Only God can control of all things
Instead: ask yourselves. Do we love God? Are we living according to our calling?
Some people want the Their OWN Purpose than God’s Purpose; and that PURPOSE is being Christ-Like.
FOCUS
The “Wallenda Factor” – fear of failure; people who dwell in negatives and only see the problem and never the possibility. It is giving focus on the wrong thing It doesn’t matter if we have focus or not; it matters. Focus on the goal. It may not guarantee the success but it should lead you to ideas wherein you can meet your success. You need to remember why you’re doing this on the first place. It will allow you to go through all the process and pain. Focus on the Controllables. By God’s grace, He gives us something He trusts us to take responsibility for. There are Choice Controllables which we can ACT UPON and Given Controllables which we need to ACCEPT. God is the biggest circle because God is in control of all things — and we need wisdom from God. Focus on GOD. He is the most important focal point. Who He is, and what He has done.
Glow in the Dark! Face Failures in Focus
“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.” Isaiah? ?9:2? ?NLT??
The Cross: What appeared to have been a failure then was a actually the greatest victory in the universe!
“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”” John? ?8:12? ?NLT?
