Dancing with DCOY

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

This is actually not my first time to do an appreciation post about DCOY. Well, I still have to check if I have posted a few archives from my blog migration.

By the way, back in college, I was part of this awesome family called FEU-IAS DANCE COMPANY and we also go by the name, DCOY for short.  Well, I wasn’t a member not until my 2nd year in college all because I was still testing the waters and by God’s grace, my grade made it to the partial academic scholarship and it was clearly a sign for me to take courage and risk in trying outs for the team. I remembered how timid I was back then for my talents because I used to get easily discouraged; I will be forever grateful to DCOY  because they taught me to believe in myself. I know I am not as good as others but I know I can show passion for it.

Having an eight-to-six-day-job,  a DGroup, a volunteering responsibility, and a daughter and girlfriend duties, I knew I had to prioritize well. It encourages me to wake up early for work and clock out on time so that I could make it also on time or at least a reasonable time for practices. I had to catch up with the steps and correcting my errors because I couldn’t attend every Thursdays and Fridays – well technically speaking, we seriously had the practice for a week only!

I don’t know why but through this dance group, it always reminds time management and discipline. I learned a lot from this family and thinking about being part of the alumni makes me so proud and my heart flutters with joy. Always thankful that they still invite me to dance even if it takes a year to dance again with them.

DCOY will always be a part not just of my heart but also, my whole self.

I am always praying for this family and I hope I could glorify the Lord through this talent. I lift up everyone else in this family to Jesus, that His name and Will may always be glorified in every and any step they make.
