B1G13 PERSEVERE: Singles’ Leadership Conference

This post is way too long overdue already and I constantly think about on how to share these with everyone. I previously shared here that my Friday nights were already booked and it is all about finding myself in the B1G Singles Ministry.

I praise God for this ministry and last December 1-3, I joined my first ever Singles’ Leadership Conference! It was my first time to be in Mt. Makiling Recreational Center (MMRC) as well! It was not my first time to be in a retreat, though my True life Retreat: Encounter 1 was an In-House and for the people who really know me, they are aware that I dislike overnight trips. Lol. Anyway, no regrets! I met new sisters in Christ and we bonded easily and felt like we have already known each other even for that short while.

I thank God for orchestrating everything for me and God, being an intentional father that He is, really made ways for me to join the retreat. The retreat fee was 4,000 PHP and since God paid off my debt, I know that this is a small amount to pay back. By the way, the “debt” I am talking about is both spiritual and earthly debts – as in credit card debts! Yep, God paid them all! I will share that in another post, so stay tuned! 😉 I attended the retreat with my DGroup leader who volunteered in the worship team.

So going back, the retreat was for three days and I learned way more than what I paid for! Just like my True Life Retreat learnings, I shall be sharing them per day. For now, I can share with you the main passage of the whole retreat:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. – Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV

3 days full of praise, dance, and worship! Three meaningful days for leaders like me and I was constantly reminded of the reasons why I am here. God’s love is unfailing and He is constant.  Being a leader is not my choice but a part of God’s plans for me. I am to learn to discern more than what He is revealing to me and this retreat taught me everything a leader and follower of God should know.
I am called to Persevere.
