True Life Retreat Notes: Day 3

Here are my short takeaways on the Day 3 of True Life Retreat. The Holy Week  Retreat was held last April 13 to 15, 2017 at CCF Center.

How to Pray. (part 2)
How do we grow as children of God? Clearly, if we want to grow, we need to change however, change is not easy. Why? First, it is of our sinful nature. Second, we are creatures of habit. Our problem is ourselves. Surrender everything to the Lord and let the Holy Spirit control you. Prayer is a spiritual discipline that can work in our hearts and can transform us. Remember that inner transformation is God’s work, not ours. Never lose focus and stop worrying about tomorrow. How do we pray effectively? Seek for the Kingdom of God, Ask and Knock. Let us also learn to pray for others.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” ??Philippians? ?4:6-7? ?NLT??

Vision.
Mission defines what we do but Vision is what will happen if we fulfill our mission. Everyone needs a clear direction in order to know the destination- or else, we get lost. Our vision comes from God and when we glorify God, He grants us the vision we needed in life. Our vision may be sometimes bigger than ourselves and it will surely demand courage and a stretch to our Faith. But as we surrender everything to Him, He will grant us wisdom – our direction will now be clear and out lived can continue to move in accordance to His will. Surrender and manifest willingness so that we can continue to live what God has really planned for us. Dreams without intention is just hallucination. So if God gives you a vision, obey.

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” ??Philippians? ?1:6? ?NLT??

These learning I got from the 3-day retreat is a clear reminder that Jesus DIED so that we could LIVE.

“he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.” ??Titus? ?3:5? ?NLT??
